So, I go out to the grocery store to get some milk…

Today, the Cubs inked OF Chris Denorfia as a free agent. He will play some LF, some RF, but he will not be an every day starter. At 34, he provides some right handed-depth, some leadership, and someone to spell Chris Coghlan in left. He signed for 1 year and $2.5 million. He has been known to hit lefties well (like Ruggiano) but not so much against righties.

Considering the Cubs just traded a similar player in Justin Ruggiano, that deal which brought the Cubs AA reliever Matt Brazis looks pretty good in hindsight.

I still think the Cubs are in the market for a CF and have some chips to get one in Travis Wood, Luis Valbuena, and/or Wellington Castillo. Should I go to the store again tomorrow????
